DIY artificial turf takeoff

Project area and turf

Start with the net measured area. Turf allowance is a planning shortcut only; roll width, grain and seams control the actual purchase.

Excavation and aggregate base

Enter compacted base depth, not the loose delivery depth. Density varies by material and moisture.

Infill, fasteners and seams

Use the application rates and materials approved for the selected turf. Generic defaults are not product specifications.

Approximate base weight8.4 t
Infill600 lb

Excavation is in-place volume and does not include soil swell. Base quantity includes the selected ordering allowance. Fasteners estimate the perimeter only. Seams may need additional fastening and adhesive. Do not use the estimate for playground fall-safety, rooftop or structural applications.

Turn the estimate into an order

  1. Use the roll-layout calculator to replace the turf allowance with actual roll cuts.
  2. Confirm the compacted base depth and aggregate with the site conditions and selected system.
  3. Check current manufacturer coverage for infill, seam materials, adhesive and fasteners.
  4. Verify delivery access, equipment, disposal and any municipal requirements.
